Swim Assessment Day - Thursday, July 16th
Swim Assessments – Thursday, July 16
Are you a returning member of the Nanaimo Riptides Swim Team, have a swimmer 5–10 years old who has received swim instruction outside of the Nanaimo Riptides program and would like to be reassessed before fall registration?
We have secured pool space for assessments only on:
Thursday, July 16
- 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Nanaimo Aquatic Centre (NAC)
Please note:
- ***Contact Sidney at sidney@nanaimoriptides.com to have your swimmer added to the list**
- First Come, First Served - Swimmers can wait their turn on the bench in front of the Riptides office (located on pool deck at the NAC, across from the diving boards)
- Bring your goggles!
- Assessment results will be emailed to families to help keep the line moving smoothly.
- This is the only assessment date available before registration opens on Monday, August 31 at 12:00 PM (noon).
The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance from July 20 – October 4, so no additional assessment dates will be available.
For New Families:
If your swimmer is 10 years old or younger and has completed Parks & Recreation Swim Kids Level 6 (or higher) outside of the Nanaimo Riptides program, we recommend attending this assessment to help determine the most appropriate placement.
Before You Arrive
Please create an account at nanaimoriptides.com and add your swimmer as a Member before attending. This ensures we can email your swimmer's assessment results.
Olympic Way Level Cross Reference
(Based on Parks & Recreation Swim Kids Levels)
Olympic Way Level 1 = Swimmer Levels 1 & 2
Olympic Way Level 2 = Swimmer Levels 3 & 4
Olympic Way Level 3 = Swimmer Levels 5 & 6
New Olympic Way Families:
Waitlists for new families will open on Wednesday, September 9. Please use the cross reference above when noting the Level on the waitlist form. Returning families register first, and programs typically fill quickly. We will do our best to accommodate as many swimmers from the waitlist as possible while maintaining safe coach-to-swimmer ratios.
